Booty Call

Having my “Name in Lights” along with my telephone number on an advertising board opposite a pub does have its draw backs.

To the guy with the sexy voice who rang me for a booty call late last night…. (I presume you didn’t want to chat about the weather at that hour) it’s not going to happen mate, go home to your wife. When you sober up, you will thank me.

I don’t answer my phone after hours instead I filter callers I don’t recognise to message bank.

To the single ladies – Lonely, looking for love? Get an advertising board. Works better than your number on the gent’s bathroom wall.

Here are some photographs I took a few weeks back when I was walking my dog at Sandgate. Sandgate is only 10 minutes away from my place across the Ted Smout Memorial Bridge. It’s a tiny little seaside community only 22km from Brisbane CBD.

Ted Smout Bridge

The suburb now known as Sandgate was originally known as Cabbage Tree Creek.Β  The Aboriginals called the area Warra which means a stretch or expanse of water.

Land first became available in Sandgate in 1853 which then developed in to a small settlement. The railway line was built in 1882 which enabled travel to Brisbane to be completed in under half an hour which promoted more rapid development of the region. In 1880 Sandgate was declared a town by the Governor of Queensland. (Source)
