Fine, thanks for asking. A little slower than anticipated, but even a snail’s pace will see a successful outcome if one doesn’t give up.
MM pulled the old kitchen out and is planning the plumbing and electricity points in preparation of the new kitchen installation. We decided to go with Kit Kitchens to supply the cabinets and sourced the appliances ourselves, saving a few hundred dollars. We will make a decision on the splash-back and bench-top after we have installed the cupboards. I still can’t decide if I want to introduce a 3rd element and have glass splash-back or have a more flowing look and use the stone bench-top as the splash-back and take it up the wall. Stone and glass are both functional from a cleaning and maintenance point of view so it really is down to the aesthetics.
The old tiles still need to come off but we only need to paint the ceiling and 2 walls as the blue wall will be covered with the overhead cupboards and splash-back.

To keep balance in our lives we nicked off for some R&R at Southport on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia on Sunday for a few nights.
We didn’t do much other than; enjoy the sun lying around the hotel pool during the day and wander around the local area in the evening to take some photographs.

Southport from the Spit
The Broadwater is an important recreational water environment and an economic resource for many residents and visitors to the Gold Coast. The water courses of the Nerang, Coomera, Pimpama and Albert rivers discharge into the Broadwater and Moreton Bay water bodies. The Broadwater is made up of a series of tidal channels to the north and is separated from the sea at the southern end by The Spit, a relatively recent coastal landform that has stabilised with the construction of the Gold Coast seaway.
