My Weekend

Friday Evening – Severe weather. Anyone traveling home from Brisbane City on Friday afternoon experienced massive delays due to flash flooding. MM who is now stationed at Queensland Rail’s main yard at Bown Hills took 4 hours and 35 minutes to drive the usual 30 minute trip home. When he’s F.I.F.O it takes half that time to get home from Townsville. I hope my fellow South East Queensland and Northern NSW blogger friends made it home without incident. There were many reported accidents on the treacherous  roads.

Saturday – An impromptu visit to the Redcliffe Gem show. I love crystals and gems. Driving passed the gem show sign, I convinced MM to turn around and take me in.

Agate, Amethyst, Ammonite, Calcite, Quartz, Cavansite, Citrine, Emerald,  Fluorite,  Fossils, Garnet, Hackmanite, Kaynite, Lepidolite, Scapolite, Stibnite, Unakite. These and many more were on display. The collection of crystals, gems and fossils were amazing. I didn’t have my camera with me. Thank goodness for the mobile phone camera.

Sunday – On our way to the Redcliffe waterfront for lunch we called into the Redcliffe Botanical Gardens for a walk around. If you don’t like flying foxes, don’t go there. The tree tops were laden with these guys and many of them were not sleeping.

I hope you had a wonderful weekend

My babe would never fret none
About what my hands and my body done
If the Lord don’t forgive me
I’d still have my baby and my babe would have me
When I was kissing on my baby
And she put her love down soft and sweet
In the low lamp light I was free
Heaven and hell were words to me

Enjoyed your weekend photos and LOVE the flying foxes. I am happy to know they are flourishing at Redcliffe BG. 🙂

    • Thanks for calling in Jet. I love flying foxes too. They are so inquisitive. Their campsite is permanent here at the Redcliffe Botanical gardens and there are hundreds if not thousands of them.
