Always on the Run

Most of my spare time has been spent planning out the renovation work needed on my house at Burpengary and lining up tradies. I will need a plumber, electrician and tiler.

The weed-kill I did last week has done its job. Now I need to pull out all the dead stuff.

Stealing a few hours here and there during the week, I mowed the grass and trimmed up some of the trees and scrubs. Grrr, the grass has seeded already and needs another mow I noticed today.

I have replaced the front and back doors with new ones purchased from Bunnings. I put about 4 coats of clear lacquer on,  giving them a lovely sheen and plenty of protection. All the rest of the internal doors are in good shape so I’ll take them off, re-paint and re-hang them when I do the internal painting. To prevent the doors from jamming, I ensure I paint all the door’s edges including the underside. This stops moisture getting into the timber and swelling it.

This week I have also picked out the paint, bathroom basins, shower screens, toilets, a new bath and the floor and wall tiles.

My mama said
That it’s good to be fruitful
But my mama said
Don’t take more than a mouthful
And my mama said
That it’s good to be natural
And my mama said
That it’s good to be factual

But I’m always on the run,
Always on the run,
But I’m always on the run.  (ref Lenny Kravits Lyrics)
